(Is there a phobia of misinterpretation?)

More Phobia fanart even if she doesn't deserve it from the night of April 11, 2013 (or something).

The night I fell in love with this sadistic jerk of a character and decided I wanted to RP her, I drew four pictures. This was the penultimate result: attempting to draw her in MY style. (It's like 95% inspired by the comics, with the brooch that the cartoon added and Todd [Nauck] kept in Teen Titans GO! #55.
(Which I loved because her concepts and her storylines always lead to EPIC character developement and lots of strengths and breakthroughs, she's an AMAZING plot device foil.

How I adapted her: See, my style with people is DEFINITELY not as "severe" as - well, anyone else's in comic books, as far as I can tell. It's definitely more influenced by cartoony styles than realism. And because my strokes are rounder by nature, faces tend to have soft qualities and thus don't look too very frightening or as serious as they COULD. But I feel that I managed to fit enough of her facial features (cheekbones, longer face, stronger jaw) in there for her to be recognizeable and unique~ She doesn't look like Alerina or Dove or Srentha or Leyla, so I consider that an accomplishment. (That's the ONE thing I've always wanted to take from George Perez's art: the characters looking UNIQUE even beneath their costumes and hair color. Not just in facial features, but expressions as well as body language and gestures...)

And I think I managed that. So yeah. I'm proud. X)

...and I'm really freaking proud of how I drew that eye.

Again, though I was paying close attention to the "features" of her eye on the Perez cover, I adopted it into my style and drew what felt right for pure charatcerization. (Thin, dark, with that half-lidded look of condescension or lazy confidence. Not to mention it's almost hypnotic.)

(I don't know how I started drawing eyes with the "two circles right next to each other and draw around those." But it works amazingly for more realistic eyes, apparently. OwO; )
still need practice with mouths though - the "three circle" technique doesn't work for me. o-o;
